About Queenie

Meet the sweetest little girl - Queenie! This lovely little girl has come into rescue because she wasn’t getting on with puppies within the household which was making her increasingly anxious. She just wants a peaceful life with lots of love and quiet, she’s now settling into foster where we’re looking forwards to watching her gain her confidence back.

Queenie is the tiniest little pup (weighing in at less than 4kg!) with the biggest personality! She’s got lots of sass and knows how to use her puppy-dog eyes to get what she wants. She can be a little shy of new people but once she gets to know you (which lots of treats helps with) she loves cuddling up on the sofa and being carried around.

When she was a puppy Queenie was kept in a crate for the first couple of months of her life and as such missed out on her key socialisation period. Because of this she can find new things a little intimidating to begin with, but she’s come on so much. She’s good with other dogs out and about on walks, though she would much rather do her own thing, and walks well on lead.

Queenie has lived with children before but found the noise and business to be a little much for her meaning she now needs to go to a child-free home, where she can get all the peace and quiet she deserves.

She isn’t a fan of sharing her home with other pups (she prefers the quiet life where all the attention is for her!) & she’s not really been introduced to cats before so if looking for a pet free and child free home. Her ideal life is sleeping curled up on the sofa next to the fire!

A word from her fosterers:

“Queenie was a frightened, very wary dog on arrival. Although she ate her food, she wouldn’t play with any toys and ignored any treats that were offered. She was wary of the harness and cowered when it was put on her. She was nervous and jumpy on her first walk in the woods.

However, within days of receiving full attention and affection, she has become a very loving, playful little dog who loves a cuddle. She now enjoys her walks and is well behaved on the lead. She is uneasy around larger dogs, but has touched noses with a couple of smaller ones.

She initially barks at strangers entering the home, but is happy to befriend them within a few minutes.

She will be happiest being the only pet. She is good around older children, but would probably prefer to live in a home where they were just visitors”

If you think you could be her paw-fect retirement please get in touch, she can’t wait to meet you! More information will be added here as she settles into foster & we learn more about her.
