About Wolfie

Wolfie is a very bright young dog who can at times feel insecure. He was removed from his previous home as a pup along with 14 other adults dogs and puppies. The conditions they were living in did not meet their welfare needs and Wolfie was underweight when he was rescued. Five months on and Wolfie has blossomed and has so much more potential just waiting to shine.

Wolfie is looking for an active home with experience of owning collie types. He is really clever and has learnt so many tricks, excels at training, has completed a beginners four session scent class and attends weekly classes here at Millbrook. His new family will need to continue with this kind of training as Wolfie enjoys learning and when he succeeds his confidence grows. Wolfie loves treats and enjoys using activity feeders and he is rather partial to a frozen stuffed chappie Kong.

Wolfie can also be sensitive and can be shy of new people but it does not take him long to bond. He is ideally looking for an adult home or one with older teens. He will need someone based at home at first so he can settle into his new surroundings with support. The time he is left will need to be increased slowly. Wolfie recently spent the day at a staff members house he only had one house training accident and the rest of the time he used the garden and his walks to toilet. He may need a bit of help with house training in his new home. Wolfie has been unsure of car travel, especially in our van but has travelled, secure, on the back seat of a car for 10 minutes. His car travel length of time will need to be increased slowly but as he discovers exciting walks at the end of his journey he should embrace and enjoy his trips out. Wolfie is being supported by the behaviour team and is also on medication to help him navigate unforseen or novel things. Once in his new home and settled he will be able to wean off of this medication.

Wolfie likes other dogs and enjoys playing off lead. He can be homed with a neutered, older dog who likes to play but can also teach him doggy etiquette.

Wolfie will need his own enclosed, private garden with 6ft fencing for off lead play whilst he grows in confidence, bonds with his new family and builds on his recall in the outside world. He has limited experiences of the wider world so his new family will need to have the time to introduce him to new sights and sounds and people.
