Athena

About Athena

If you’re looking for a loyal, water-loving companion then Athena might be the right dog for you.

Potential adopters will need to come visit Athena multiple times due to her being a bit nervous of new people. Athena weighs 25kg, so she will adopters that can physically hold her out on walks.

Meet Athena! she is at first nervous yet loving girl with a heart of gold and a deep, passionate love for anything involving water. Whether it’s splashing in dog pools, scooping out her water bowls or biting at the garden hose, this girl is a certified water baby.

Athena would need to be the only pet within your household and is in need of some basic and manners training when meeting and interacting with dogs and people due to her excitement. We would expect you to be willing to take her to training classes and work with her on improving these behaviours.

As Athena can be a bit worried she is best suited to an home home with adopters that have an understanding of nervous dogs and understand it will take time for her to adjust into a new home. She will need a private enclosed garden with 6 ft fencing.

Athena is a work in progress, and she’s looking for a specific kind of home to help her blossom:

Dog Experience: She needs owners who understands canine body language and behaviour.

Patience & Commitment: Athena is building her confidence. She needs a family willing to take things slow and celebrate the small victories. She needs a family that will not take her to busy places like pubs/cafes

Confidence Building: With the right guidance, training, and positive reinforcement, Athena’s true, resilient personality will shine through.

Could you be Athena's perfect match? If you have a passion for training, a patient heart, and a home with plenty of towel storage for after her water adventures, Athena is waiting to meet you!
