About Trixie

Trixie is a 5‑year‑old Border Collie who is bright, affectionate, and eager to please. She’s fully housetrained, crate‑trained, travels well, and has excellent obedience — she knows her commands, has good recall, and loves learning new things.

On walks, Trixie is enthusiastic and enjoys getting out and about. She walks very nicely on a gentle leader, but without it she can pull strongly, especially at the start of a walk. She’s improving around traffic and can settle well with guidance. Squirrels are her biggest distraction, but she responds to commands and can refocus.

Indoors she’s calm, settles beautifully in her crate, and has no separation anxiety. She mixes well with other dogs, is gentle taking treats, and thrives on predictable routines. She’s food‑motivated and happiest on a dry‑food diet.

Trixie does have a startle reflex when woken suddenly, which has led to two bites over several years. Because of this, she needs a child‑free home where she can rest undisturbed and where her new family understands her boundaries around sleep.

She’s a loving, clever collie who will flourish with an experienced adopter who can offer structure, patience, and plenty of enrichment. In the right home, Trixie will be a devoted, joyful companion.
