Salem is a lovely brindle male lurcher available for adoption at Pawprints Dog Rescue in the Midlands.
Salem is a gorgeous lurcher, believed to be around 5 years old, who is ready to find the forever home he deserves. He came into our care from another pound organisation, so sadly, we don’t know much about his past. What we do know is that he’s a very sweet natured boy who loves a fuss, his treats, and is sure to bring plenty of fun to the right home!
Salem has been great with other dogs whilst in our care and enjoys heading out on walks with his friends. Having another dog alongside him seems to help build his confidence in new places, and he’s happy walking with dogs of all shapes and sizes. When it comes to off lead play, Salem can be very enthusiastic, with lots of mouthing and vocalising, so any dog in his new home would need to be comfortable with his rather exuberant play style. He and our female lurcher, Valerie, have become firm friends, sharing a very similar way of playing, so another playful lurcher could be a wonderful match for him. Salem doesn’t necessarily need another dog in the home to be happy but would love to continue socialising with other dogs.
Salem is brilliant in the car and will happily jump straight in, he is ready for lots of new adventures!
We feel Salem would be best suited to a home with children aged 12 and over. He really is a gentle, affectionate boy, but like many lurchers, he can get a serious case of the zoomies! His long legs and enthusiastic bursts of energy could easily knock over smaller children. We also don’t know whether Salem has lived in a home before, so his new family should be prepared to help him learn the ropes. This may include some support with toilet training, learning not to help himself to tasty things on kitchen counters, and keeping his nose out of the bins.
Salem is looking for a family who can offer him love and a little patience as he discovers what it means to have a home of his own.
