About Juni
Juni is a 4-month-old Pomchi x Shih Tzu puppy who is looking for a home ready to embrace all the fun, mischief and learning that comes with raising a young puppy!
Juni came into our care following a sudden change in her owner’s circumstances and has been spending her time in a loving foster home with one of our dedicated foster carers.
As cute and angelic as Juni may look, don’t let those puppy-dog eyes fool you — if there is mischief to be found, Juni will find it! She is a bright, playful and inquisitive little girl who is very typical of a puppy her age. She loves human company and interaction, enjoys playing and exploring, and is wonderfully food motivated, which will be a huge advantage when it comes to her ongoing training.
Juni is at the very beginning of her learning journey and will need adopters who understand that puppies require time, patience, consistency and plenty of positive guidance. She will need continued work on her basic training, boundaries and manners, as well as careful and positive socialisation to the wider world. Her foster carer has already started this process and has enrolled Juni in a course of puppy classes, which she has begun attending. Her adopter will be required to continue and complete these classes with her, these will be free of charge.
Juni can become mouthy during play and when she becomes over-excited, so we are looking for a home with children aged 8 years or over who can understand and respect her boundaries and who will be able to take part in her training in an appropriate way.
Juni is looking for a feline-free home. She could potentially live with another young, active, small dog who enjoys playful interaction, provided that the resident dog is confident and well balanced and would be a positive role model for Juni. Any dog-to-dog introduction would need to be carefully managed. Initial introductions of Juni and another dog would be done here at the sanctuary.
A secure private garden will be important for Juni. Ideally, this should have secure boundaries of at least 5 feet in height, giving her a safe environment in which to continue mastering her house training, explore the outdoors and learn how to relax and settle outside.
Juni's foster carer has also begun gently introducing her to being left for short periods. This is still very much a work in progress, and her new family will need to continue this gradually and positively. Her adopters will therefore need to be at home for the majority of the time initially and be prepared to build up alone time at Juni's pace.
Juni's ideal home
We are looking for adopters who:
Understand the time, patience and commitment involved in raising a young puppy. Are prepared to continue Juni's positive reward-based training and puppy classes. Will provide clear, consistent and kind boundaries. Are able to dedicate plenty of time to her initially. Have a secure private garden with boundaries of at least 5ft. Have no resident feline pets. Have children aged 8 years or over. Are committed to continuing Juni's socialisation and helping her grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.
Juni's health
Juni is microchipped, has received her puppy vaccinations and is up to date with her flea and worming treatments. She is not yet neutered due to her age. Her adopter will be required to bring her back to the sanctuary to be neutered when she reaches the appropriate age.
Juni is a gorgeous little puppy with bags of personality, but she is not a finished product. She needs a family who will enjoy the journey with her — helping her learn, grow, socialise and understand the world around her while giving her the consistency and structure she needs.
In return, Juni promises to bring plenty of puppy fun, affection and laughter.
