About Tilly & Lucy

Meet Tilly and Lucy

Tilly is a 12-year-old black and white crossbreed weighing approximately 17kg, and Lucy is an 8-year-old black and tan crossbreed weighing around 12kg.

These lovely ladies have spent many years together as devoted sisters. Sadly, they recently found themselves needing a new home after their owner passed away. With no family able to care for them, they came into the care of Islay Dog Rescue.

Despite the significant changes they have experienced, both girls remain loving, affectionate companions who are looking for a special home where they can stay together as the bonded pair they have always been.

As we are unable to directly assess our dogs with children at the rescue, any recommendations regarding children are based on the dog's known history, observed behaviour, and the characteristics they have displayed while in our care.

For Tilly and Lucy, we do not believe they have lived with children before and due to their ages, we feel they would be best suited to a home with no children or dog-savvy children aged 12 years and over who will understand and respect their boundaries. We would ask that any children who live in the prospective home attend one of the two pre-adoption visits, giving them the opportunity to meet Mia and ensuring everyone is comfortable before proceeding with the adoption.

Tilly and Lucy both walk beautifully on the lead and enjoy getting out and exploring the great outdoors. While they have always lived happily together, they may occasionally give a little bark when they see other dogs. However, they have shown no signs of aggression. It is therefore possible that they could live with a calm, respectful dog who would give them space and not place too many demands on them. Any introductions would need to be carried out carefully.

They have not yet been cat tested, but this can be arranged if required.

Understandably, both girls can be a little cautious when meeting new people. However, once they have had a little time to get to know you, they soon reveal their affectionate natures and enjoy both giving and receiving cuddles. Winning them over is made even easier by the fact that they both love treats, especially a bit of chicken!

We feel that Tilly and Lucy deserve to remain together, and we are hoping to find a loving, patient home that will welcome them both and provide the security, kindness and devotion they so richly deserve after the sad loss they have experienced.

They are both fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, assessed and neutered.

The adoption fee for both dogs is £400, helping Islay Rescue continue their vital work caring for dogs in need.

Could you be the one to give these wonderful girls the forever home they are looking for?
