Orla

About Orla

Orla is a beautiful 4-year-old Shih Tzu weighing approximately 8.5kg. She came into the care of Islay Dog Rescue due to a change in her family's circumstances, through no fault of her own.

Having previously lived in a family home, we have been advised that Orla is house-trained. She is a delight to walk and travels beautifully on the lead, taking in her surroundings with curiosity and enthusiasm. Whether exploring indoors or discovering new places outdoors, Orla enjoys investigating the world around her.

A gentle and quiet little girl, Orla has settled remarkably well into kennel life despite the recent changes she has experienced. Typical of her breed, she is affectionate, playful and loving, and she has charmed everyone she has met since arriving in our care. She enjoys fuss, cuddles and human companionship and is happiest when spending time with her people.

Orla is particularly fond of chicken and ham, making these excellent rewards for building a bond and reinforcing any ongoing training.

She has previously lived with other dogs, cats and small animals with no issues is comfortable around dogs she has just met and we believe she could happily live with a resident canine companion, subject to careful introductions.

As we are unable to directly assess our dogs with children at the rescue, any recommendations regarding children are based on known history, observed behaviour and the characteristics displayed while in our care. Based on everything we know about Orla, who has previously lived with children we believe she could live with children of any age, provided interactions are appropriately supervised and her boundaries are respected. We would ask that any children living in the prospective home attend one of the two pre-adoption visits, allowing them the opportunity to meet Orla and ensuring everyone is comfortable before proceeding with the adoption.

She has travelled in cars with no known issues.

Orla is a delightful little dog who could fit comfortably into a wide range of home environments. Whether as the devoted companion of a single person or couple, or as part of a loving family, she has all the qualities needed to become a cherished member of the household.

She is looking for a home where she will be given the time, patience, love and commitment she deserves. In return, her adopters will gain a loyal, affectionate companion whose loving nature will bring years of happiness and companionship.

Orla is microchipped and will come vaccinated and treated for parasites. Her adopter will have to sign a neutering agreement.

Her adoption fee is £400, which goes directly towards helping rescue and care for other dogs just like her.

Could you give this wonderful girl the forever home she is looking for?
