Meet Phoebe, pheebs, pheobers, our one of a kind, crossbreed!

Phoebe is the sweetest girl and never fails to make us laugh – she’s slightly awkward but that just adds to her charm which she has in bucket loads! She really does have heaps of character and absolutely loves a soft toy – her kennel is full of toys she’s collected on her trips round the sanctuary!

Phoebe is super smart, knows loads of tricks and also loves having activities to do and toys to play with. She loves going for long walks around the woods (she’s become known for taking her carers off on adventures and getting them lost!) and having a good zoom around our secure fields. She also loves to have a good nap and loves to sunbathe – so she really is the perfect balance! Phoebe is good with most dogs and has made lots of dog friends here at the sanctuary.

Having originally come from Romania, we do not know the start that Phoebe had in life, because of this, we are looking for a calm, quiet, more rural home for Phoebe so that she is away from the hustle and bustle of city life and can find her feet in an environment where she feels safe.

Pheebers regularly goes off site to scent classes and for longer adventures, which she absolutely adores. Travelling well in the car and walking well on her lead – she really is a joy to be out and about with.

We are looking for a home where people are willing to take their time to gain Phoebe’s trust and build a good relationship with her so that she feels safe and happy. In her previous home, Phoebe did show an exaggerated sleep startle reflex and therefore will need her own room to sleep in separate to her humans – Holly hedge can provide advice and support around this. While being with us we have seen no behaviours similar to this and have worked hard to make sure phoebe is able to communicate how she feels, so a home with knowledge of dog behaviours (and an endless supply of treats!) would be ideal for our wonderful girl.

Phoebe has been with us for far too long and we are so hopeful 2026 will be her year and someone will see the adorable girl we all see and give her the home she deserves.
