About Ernie

Ernie, is a handsome four-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is searching for his forever home. Ernie is a lively, fun-loving boy who stays true to his breed with an active mind and a constant desire for his next adventure. He absolutely adores people, welcoming visitors into the home with open arms, and he loves nothing more than curling up for a snuggle with his favourite humans after an exciting day. While Ernie is immensely affectionate, he does possess a classic Jack Russell stubborn streak. The good news is that he is highly food motivated and will gladly follow instructions for a tasty treat, making him a fantastic candidate for further training. Because Ernie prefers to keep his toys all to himself, he will need to be the only dog in his new household. He does not show any resource guarding toward humans, but he simply wants to be the star of the show. Ernie is looking for an attentive family who is home most of the time. When left alone or left to his own devices, he tends to get bored and will happily collect and chew on stray socks, shoes, or anything else left within reach. Daily walks are one of his absolute favourite activities, though his new owners will need to work on his lead manners and recall, as his high prey drive can make him pull toward interesting scents and wildlife. Because of his keen hunting instincts and impressive agility, Ernie requires a secure garden with a minimum of six foot fencing to prevent him from scaling the perimeter when he spots local wildlife. Finally, Ernie is not a fan of loud fireworks and will appreciate a cosy, comforting sanctuary to retreat to during celebratory seasons. In return for a secure, active, and present home, Ernie promises endless devotion, playful energy, and a lifetime of affection.
