About Herbie

Herbie is a friendly, slightly bouncy and goofy boy, he always seems to be full of joy which can really bring a smile to your face. Herbie came to us from the pound so we unfortunately do not know much about his life before us, but whatever it may be Herbie certainly doesn’t let his history bring him down.

It may be that Herbie has not lived in a house before but we have seen him display some signs of anxiety in a home environment, therefore he will need someone with the patience to persevere through this. Herbie has a lot to learn all around, and while we have been keeping up a variety of training, he will need someone willing to continue helping him learn. Herbie is a keen learner, and he loves his food making training a very positive and exciting experience. Although, his cheeky side will definitely make an appearance in an attempt to steal himself an extra treat or two.

Herbie is very excitable around other dogs, and hasn’t quite learned not every dog wants to play. We are working on this and he is making some quick friends, those which he can have an off-lead run around with or a more calm plod through the woods. Herbie could live with a dog pending successful introductions, but it will take a few meets to ensure both dogs are comfortable.

Herbie is generally lovely to walk on lead, only briefly forgetting his manners with his endless enthusiasm. With plenty of energy Herbie will require a good amount of exercise as well as the regular brain work out. Herbie does have a prey drive, but typically this has been very easily managed. In typical Lurcher fashion Herbie is very athletic and will require a 6ft fence to accommodate him.

We are looking for a home with previous breed experience to continue Herbies current training, and manage his anxieties in a new home environment.

Herbie has such character, and will make the best companion in the right home. If you’re ready to start a new adventure, Herbie would love to be there right by your side, rewriting his story and finding the ‘happy furever after’ he truly deserves. Are you ready?
