About Pugsley
Well, hello there! I’m Pugsley, a handsome Greyhound with a big heart, a love of people, and a rather serious appreciation for squeaky toys. I’m on the lookout for my forever home, and I’m hoping it’s a case of third times the charm! ❤️
I’m a very affectionate chap who absolutely loves being around people. I’m a bit of a fuss enthusiast, so if you’re offering cuddles, don’t be surprised if I lean right into you to encourage you to keep going. I’m not shy about letting you know that human attention is one of my favourite things!
Now, let’s talk toys. Squeaky ones are my absolute weakness! I love taking my favourite toys off to bed, hiding them away, and then uncovering them again as if I’ve just made the most marvellous discovery. Who needs television when you’ve got your own toy treasure hunt? 😂
I also enjoy getting out and about for walks and generally walk nicely on the lead. When I have some time in a secure, sole-use paddock with one of my doggy friends, I love a good game of chase and can really put my racing legs to the test showing my impressive zoomies!
As a former racing Greyhound, I do have a strong prey drive, so I’ll need to wear my muzzle and remain on the lead when out and about. My future family will need to understand this and help me stay safe.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have two homes before, but sadly, things haven’t worked out through no fault of my own. My first home found that I struggled with being left alone, and in my second, there were concerns that I might accidentally knock over someone in the home who was unsteady on their feet. Sometimes, even when everyone has the best intentions, the right match just hasn’t come along yet.
So, I’m hoping my third home will be the one where everything falls into place. I’m looking for a family who understands my needs, has time for me, and will appreciate all the love, fun and personality I have to offer. In return, you’ll get a devoted companion, a professional level leaner for fuss, and a very enthusiastic squeaky toy enthusiast!
Could you be the one to make it third time lucky for Pugsley? I’ve got plenty of love left to give, and I’m ready to find my happily ever after. 🏡💕
✅You’ve owned a dog with separation anxiety before.
✅You are comfortable with a dog who must stay on the lead and wear a muzzle in public (this is due to prey drive).
✅You are happy to come to Gables at least a couple of times a week until I am ready to come home.
✅You don’t have a garden (yes, that really is ok! as long as you can commit to booking off lead paddocks at least once a month). If you do have a garden but it’s not secure, that’s cool too as long as you agree to keep me on a long line and stay with me while I’m out. If you do have a secure garden (fencing at least 5 ft) then that’s fantastic, you can just open the door and let me play.
