About Greggs
Hello! I’m Greggs… and yes, I know what you’re thinking.
Before you ask… no, I don’t come with a free sausage roll. Although if you adopt me, you’ll get unlimited cuddles instead, which I think is a pretty good deal.
I’m the sort of chap who believes affection should be served generously. I’ll gently nudge your hand if you’ve accidentally stopped fussing me, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll simply rest my head in your lap, or hand, until you remember your customer service standards.
The humans say I’m wonderfully laid-back. I’m not here for the daily rush… I’m more of a “find a comfy spot, lean on my favourite person and watch the world go by” kind of boy. Unless we’re going for a walk, of course. Then you’ll see my signature dressage prance, because every outing deserves a grand opening.
Toys? I still haven’t quite worked out what all the hype is about. If you squeak one, I’ll happily investigate, but honestly… I’d rather spend my time being pampered. A good brush? Now you’re talking. That’s my version of the VIP menu.
I’m beautifully polite around food too. I won’t argue over my dinner and I’m not one to get my pastry in a twist over treats. I’d much rather share a cuddle than a sausage roll anyway.
Like all ex-racing Greyhounds, I’ve never lived in a home before, so there may be a few crumbs to brush up on. House rules, sofas, televisions, vacuum cleaners… it’ll all be brand new to me. With a little patience, I’m sure I’ll soon prove I’m the best thing to arrive on your doorstep since… well… you know.
I love meeting new people and I’m always happy to introduce myself. Other dogs are lovely too. I greet them politely, although if they fancy a game, I can become a bit of a sausage roll myself… all wiggly, noisy and impossible not to laugh at. I’ll need a four-legged friend who enjoys my enthusiastic style of play.
So, if you’ve been searching for something warm, comforting and guaranteed to make your day better, if you match up with these green ticks then I might just be your perfect order.
✅You’ve owned a dog before.
✅You are comfortable with a dog who must stay on the lead and wear a muzzle in public (this is due to prey drive).
✅You are happy to come to Gables at least a couple of times a week until I am ready to come home.
✅You don’t have a garden (yes, that really is ok! as long as you can commit to booking off lead paddocks at least once a month). If you do have a garden but it’s not secure, that’s cool too as long as you agree to keep me on a long line and stay with me while I’m out. If you do have a secure garden (fencing at least 5 ft) then that’s fantastic, you can just open the door and let me play.
Go on… treat yourself.
After all, everyone deserves a Greggs. ❤️
