About Buttercup

Hi, I’m Buttercup 🐾

I’m a bright, bouncy Terrier cross with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. I’ve got lots of energy and I like to keep busy, so don’t expect me to sit still for too long when there’s life happening around me!I absolutely adore attention and I’m never shy about asking for it. Belly rubs are one of my favourite things in the world, and I’ll happily roll over to make sure you don’t forget. I’m fast, agile and always ready to jump into whatever’s going on… sometimes quite literally, as I do like getting up onto furniture too!

I’m good when I’m being handled, although I can be a bit wiggly because I’m so excited to be involved. I also enjoy being brushed, which is a nice calm moment I quite like. Toys are fun, especially squeaky ones, but I really enjoy them most when you’re involved too. I like sharing the excitement with my humans rather than playing on my own.

I can sit when asked, and I’m definitely clever enough to learn more if you’ve got time to teach me. I’m always up for a bit of fun and activity, and I’d really love a home that can keep up with my energy and enthusiasm. When it’s time to rest, I love nothing more than to tuck myself up under the blanket for the best afternoon naps.

I’ll be honest, I’ve come from a complicated background, so I might need a bit of guidance and reassurance as I settle in. But I’ve got a lot of love to give, and I really want to meet someone who sees the happy, affectionate girl I am underneath it all.

I expect you are wondering if we could be a match, here’s my adoption check list.

✅You are a first time owner, but you’ve done your research.

✅You are comfortable with a dog who must stay on the lead and wear a muzzle in public (this is due to prey drive).

✅You are happy to come to Gables at least a couple of times a week until I am ready to come home.

✅You don’t have a garden (yes, that really is ok! as long as you can commit to booking off lead paddocks at least once a month). If you do have a garden but it’s not secure, that’s cool too as long as you agree to keep me on a long line and stay with me while I’m out. If you do have a secure garden (fencing at least 5 ft) then that’s fantastic, you can just open the door and let me play, but you will have to supervise me as I might try to dig my way to freedom.

If you’re looking for a lively, loving companion who will keep you smiling, moving and always involved… I think we could be a great match. 💛🐾
