Jock

About Jock

4 year old Cane Corso Jock originally came to Foal Farm from a pound in January 2024. He had been straying with a muzzle on and was eventually captured to get him safe.

His stay with us was quite brief and he found a home in May of the same year. Although Jock had interactions with some children from the extended family, he struggled with the arrival of a new baby within his home and has sadly been returned to us.

During his time in the home, Jock made some significant progress with his worries and woes. Initially he was a very timid and wary boy and could be very reactive through fear. He enjoyed some camping holidays and made plenty of new friends. He is in fact a lazy boy who loves to lounge in bed and isn’t worried when left home alone.

Jock has proven that with introduction he can accept new people into his life. He likes to play, can be very affectionate and adores his people. Typical of a Corso, he can be very protective of his people and home.

On walks, Jock is very strong on lead but he remembers his training and we are seeing improvement. He will need a capable handler who is willing to continue his training as he is a big boy weighing in at 66kg, he is overweight and on a diet to lose a couple of kilos.

This poor chap is yet another large breed in the rescue system. Jock has been so badly let down in the past and is not a bad dog. He does have some allergies that are currently being investigated by our vet and we will continue this support once Jock has found a forever home.

We are now seeking someone for Jock to call his own and who will give him all the belly rubs he so desperately craves. He is a lovely boy who has a heart that matches his size!
