About Egon

Egon is a large ‘scruffy haired’ lurcher who came to us for rehoming due to his previous owners not being able to cope. He is said to be a Deerhound cross Lurcher.

He’s a nice boy, and has been friendly with everybody he has met here… however he isn’t used to children and would be better in a home without children due to his excited nature. Egon can get over-stimulated easily, and can become ‘nippy’ during play.

Egon has been fine with other dogs, and has a history of being okay with other dogs… however he’s not good with cats or other small animals/birds. He may be able to share his home with another dog, but this would depend on a dog meeting here at the shelter.

Egon would prefer a rural home, as he wasn’t cope with a more urban lifestyle in his previous home… he is worried by loud traffic noise, and loud bangs. However he would need a secure garden to play in, as he can jump very high. He does enjoy getting out for his walks, and particularly enjoys running around our exercise compounds – this is where he can get a little silly and ‘nippy’ when he gets over excited.

He has had some basic training.
