Good with
- Cats — no: “No - As my team don’t know much about my previous life, they’re looking for a cat free home for me. However, I’ve been a good boy so far and have completely ignored the resident farm cats here when out on my walks!”
- Other dogs — maybe: “Potentially - Possibly, but due to the circumstances of how I came into rescue, my team can’t be completely sure just yet. Over the next week or two, I’ll be spending time with some of their trusted ‘stooge’ dogs so they can get a better understanding of how I interact with other dogs. So far, I’ve been a very good boy and haven’t reacted to any of the other dogs on site! I was also on my best behaviour during a visit to the vets, where I sat calmly in the waiting room surrounded by dogs of all shapes and sizes. One of them, a little Cavapoo, had quite the meltdown, but I wasn’t bothered in the slightest and simply minded my own business!”
- Children — yes: “Teenagers: Yes - My team believe I would be a great fit for a home with dog-experienced teenagers who understand my needs; Young children: Potentially - I’ve shown no behaviours to suggest I couldn’t live with younger children. However, due to my circumstances before rescue, my team will need to consider this carefully. Please ask them for more information via email!”
About Copper
If you looked up ‘STAFFY’ in the dictionary, I’m pretty sure you’d find a picture of me! 😂💪
I’m a four legged muscle machine with a big personality, an even BIGGER obsession with fetch, and absolutely ZERO concern for the British weather! 🌧️🎾
Rain or shine, I’m always ready for an adventure, especially if there’s a football involved!
I’m a really easy going boy who doesn’t ask for much! Give me a ball to chase, some exciting adventures and a little love and attention, and I’m one very happy Staffy! 🧡
If you’re a Staffy lover, I reckon we’ll get along just fine! 🐾
Not everyone can offer a forever home – but you can still change Copper’s life, and the lives of many more animals like them.
By donating to All Creatures Great and Small, you’re helping us provide food, shelter, veterinary care, and round-the-clock love to animals who’ve lost everything. Copper’s story is just one of many – but with your support, none of them have to face it alone.
Your gift today helps us keep the kennel doors open, the blankets warm, and hope alive.

Every pound makes a difference. Every life is worth it.
Do I have any medical issues? No - My team don’t have any previous veterinary history for me, but I visited the vets when I first arrived here and was given a clean bill of health! Judging by my teeth and overall condition, the vet thinks I’m around 3 years old. I’ve also been neutered and had my first vaccination, with my second due on the 18th November 2026.
Am I good on the lead? Yes - I walk nicely on my lead, although I can get a little excited when I first come out of my kennel! After a few minutes, I settle down and enjoy my walk. I like to walk slightly ahead, but I’m always looking back over my shoulder to check you’re still there! I absolutely LOVE sticks and often pick them up along the way, hoping you’ll throw them for me! Apparently, that’s not the best idea when I’m on a lead, unless you fancy ending up on the floor! I haven’t quite figured that bit out yet!
Do I have any fears? Not that my humans have noticed so far! I’m a happy, confident boy who takes most things in his stride! With firework season approaching, they’ll be keeping an eye on how I react and will update this write up soon!
What are my exercise requirements? I’m a fit and healthy Staffie who absolutely LOVES playing fetch! I could happily play all day if you’d let me! 🎾 I’ll need around 2 hours of exercise each day and would love a home where I can spend plenty of time with my humans. Once I’ve burned off my energy, I’m great at settling down and relaxing. I even lay quietly at the vets while my team had a chat after my appointment!
