About Carly
Carly is less than 1yr old, she is a long haired Persian cross female, she is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Carly has been through SOOO much in her young life she so deserves the perfect home. We received a call late one night from someone who had found Carly and her tiny kittens dumped in a box by a canal, they were all skin and bone, running with fleas and had acute diarrohea and were absolutely filthy, Carly's coat was matted and smelly.
We quickly managed to deal with the parasites and resolve the kittens upset tummies but became increasingly concerned about Carly, she was eating but then violently vomiting and still not toiling properly, a trip to our vets lead to her being immediately admitted as her blood work showed she was also very anaemic. Further xray's and scans showed she was suffering with an intussusception in her intestine, in cats is a rare but life‑threatening condition where one part of the intestine slides into an adjacent segment, causing obstruction, loss of blood supply, vomiting, abdominal pain, and requiring urgent surgery. £3k later and 2 days hospitalisation saw this little fighter pull through and able to return home for critical care. Her kittens off course needed to go off to be hand reared she was in no fit state to care for them.
Fast forward to now and Carly is fully recovered from her surgery and her anaemia now resolved, she is eating really well and although still a slim girl she is slowly gaining weight. She is now ready to fine her forever home.
Carly is a real character, she is very kitten like still and extremely playful, she loves chasing a ball or a toy on a stick. She enjoys a fuss and happy to be stroked and picked up but she's no push over and she does have a little spicey side where she will tell you when she's had enough. She will allow you to brush her lovely knot free coat but you need to be aware that she wont be so happy if you find a snag or brushing her tail, its not impossible, you just need to be experienced. She's not a cat for a novice owner, she's a very confident girl who knows her own mind.
Carly is good with other cats and we want her to have a feline friend in her new home as she enjoys their company, she really hates dogs unfortunately and she isn't suited to live with children under the age of 12yrs (younger visiting children would be fine)
She will need a home WELL AWAY FROM ANY BUSY OR FAST ROADS with a nice safe garden to play in. She enjoys her Whiskas in jelly wet food and IAMS (or similar) dry food and is great with the litter tray.
Carly is being fostered in Swadlincote, South Derby's but can be rehomed further afield to the right home subject to home check and adoption donation of £150
