Sweet, tabby & white cats, Missy (4 years, 2 months’ old, white chest and front legs) and her son, Sammy (3 years, 6 months’ old, more tabby markings over his back), are looking for a forever home because their owner has sadly passed away.
The cats’ owner believed that he had an arrangement with another charity to care for the cats if ever he should be unable to but, sadly, a thorough search has found no evidence. With places arising at our Cat Cabins on the Surrey/Hampshire border, HFC was happy to step in to help.
Stray cat, Missy, was eight months’ old when she started to spend time at her owner’s home. When she was only one year old, she unexpectedly gave birth to a litter of kittens. Their owner, who would have loved to keep them all, dutifully arranged homes for most of the kittens, but he was keen to keep two, Sammy and his brother, Nicky, as well as Missy. Nicky is also available for adoption and his profile is posted separately.
Missy and Sammy were fed freshly cooked fish and, more recently, steak(!) on a daily basis and, as you can see, they are quite curvy! Our Cabins Team have found some fishy cat food they like and we are looking for an adopter(s) willing to continue a reduced (cat food) diet to ensure that they stay healthy.
Whilst both cats are a little shy, Missy is the more confident of the pair and likes to chat. Sammy often looks to his mum for support and encouragement. The pair mutually groom each other on Missy’s terms. Missy and Sammy both like to play with toys, particularly a “toy meat” on a string! Missy also loves an elastic band. Both cats like to spend time in the same room as people they know.
Missy and Sammy are looking for a quiet home with adults where they can enjoy being only pets. As Missy used to live stray, she likes, and has experience of, the outside world and knows how to use a cat flap. Whilst Sammy did not have the opportunity to go out whilst living in his previous home, he shows interest in the outside world. Therefore, they would like a home with a safe garden.
Missy and Sammy have previously been neutered and microchipped and received their first vaccination before coming into care. They are now ready to meet potential adopters.
If you would like to offer a loving home with safe outside space to both Missy and Sammy, please take a look at the checklist in their media where you can see the type of home they are looking for. Thank you.
