About Ash

May live with: Adults and older children

Ash is a handsome, lively young boy with a big personality and an even bigger love of playtime! 🐾

Rescued from a large outdoor cat colony, Ash is now looking for a patient, understanding family who will give him the time and routine he needs to truly flourish.

🖤 A little about Ash Ash is very vocal, especially when he’s hungry! He greets his favourite people with an adorable high-pitched “mmp” sound when they enter the room — and you’ll definitely hear from him when he knows the treat bag is being shaken! 😻

He has lots of energy and loves to play. His favourite activities include: 🐭 Carrying his knitted catnip mice around the house 🪶 Chasing feather wands and toys 🎣 Catching treats 🐿️ Sitting at the window watching and chittering at birds and squirrels 😴 Stretching out and relaxing near his favourite people

Ash is naturally shy and hypervigilant, and loud noises or unfamiliar visitors can make him nervous. However, once he gets to know you, his wonderful personality really starts to shine. He’ll stretch out, roll around and happily show you his belly! 💕

He isn’t a naturally cuddly cat, but he loves being close to his people, sitting or sleeping nearby and keeping an eye on everything that’s going on. He will even tolerate being picked up and given a cuddle for short periods. He occasionally purrs too — usually when dinner is approaching! 😹

🏡 The home Ash needs Ash would suit teenagers, adults and mature/older children who understand that confidence takes time to build.

His ideal family will: ❤️ Be patient while he settles in ❤️ Provide a calm, predictable routine ❤️ Enjoy interactive play and keeping him mentally stimulated ❤️ Understand that he may need time to trust new people ❤️ Give him plenty of reassurance and space when he feels unsure

We have already seen his confidence grow every day, and we believe there is a lovely, affectionate relationship waiting to develop with the right family.

🩺 Ash’s health Ash has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms.

He appears to have a variant of a very common feline flu virus. Occasionally he has a flare-up, which can cause discharge from his eyes. These episodes are managed with a short course of eye drops and anti-inflammatory treatment. He was tested, but nothing showed up in his tests.

His tummy can be a bit sensitive but as long as he is kept on foods that work for him he is ok. Otherwise, Ash is a very active, happy and normal young cat. ❤️

🐾 Could you be Ash’s person? Ash has so much character, energy and potential. He just needs someone who will see the lovely cat underneath his initial shyness and give him the time to feel safe and confident.
